The Old Machine is a blog journal dedicated to American-made, cast-iron vintage woodworking machinery.

My goal is to inspire others to see vintage tools and machines not only as a great way to get work done but also as works of art and pieces of history.
I collect, salvage, refurbish and restore pieces of machinery that catch my eye or that simply cry out for help. I’ve found all for very low prices, especially compared to the alternatives that they’re selling over at Home Depot. Go ahead and read up on any of my tools that interest you, i hope you enjoy seeing what a little time and energy can do to that old rusty thing sitting in some one’s back yard.
